Instagram unveiled a series of new features as part of its anti-bullying efforts to help users handle negative feedback better, as well as highlight positive ones.
It also introduces new controls to monitor who can tag or mention you on Instagram, which may be another online source of bullying.
The first of the latest features for handling negative feedback is explicitly targeted at those with a broad following who own or help run Instagram accounts.
It can be difficult to handle a flood of negative comments on these accounts – particularly in the case of a post that has gone viral or an online troll or bots orchestrated attack.
Instagram has tested a new feature that allows account holders to remove bulk comments and limit multiple accounts posting derogatory comments.
This will effectively silence those who actively harass high-profile accounts with the main purpose of leaving derogatory or malicious remarks behind.
The company says the early feedback from its tests was positive, so it’s opening up the app on mobile for Instagram users.

You can also monitor who tags you in an Instagram post or a tweet. “You can choose whether you want everyone, only people you follow or no one to be able to tag or mention you in a comment, caption, or Story,” announced by Instagram.
